The transformation of the National Petrochemical Company from being an enterprise to a development/supervision body has further increased the tasks and responsibilities of the organization's information technology. In order to ensure effective and efficient monitoring of the petrochemical industry, establishment of a rightful, secure and timely information system is essential. Therefore, the National Petrochemical Company is a data-driven organization in its new mission; in a way that key and vital data and information of the petrochemical industry with the aim of decision-making at the macro level of the industry will play a vital and infrastructural role in the planning and development of the industry. Also, other missions of the organization in the field of investment support and encouragement have made the existence of accurate and timely information more necessary than ever.
Accordingly, regulatory planning in the field of information and communication technology of the National Petrochemical Company should be developed in such a way as to fully cover the regulatory tasks and missions contained in the new articles of association of the company and with a comprehensive approach to the information and communication infrastructure of the petrochemical industry.
Why it Matters!
Achieving the macro goals of the petrochemical industry requires access to accurate and up-to-date information and its exchange between the parties and enterprises involved in the industry. For this very reason and according to the contents of Table 2-2 (taken from the vision and missions of the National Petrochemical Company as a Development and Regulatory Organization); achieving the goals of e-government and the strategic document of the comprehensive information technology system, development and completion of databases related to the petrochemical industry, providing services in the internet/intranet using advanced infrastructure, access to information resources and paying special attention to issues in the field of information and communication technology are important and necessary matters to be considered.
Moreover, the country's petrochemical industry can have an active and competitive presence in the economic arena (either national or international) and defend its national interests, only if the optimal, efficient and effective policy, management, supervision and monitoring of the value chain are achieved. This cannot be possible without a precise, accurate, secure and timely flow of information and decision-making based on information.
Vision
The National Petrochemical Company is a data-driven organization that, as a data center and hub to provide petrochemical industry business information, is responsible for establishing an integrated industry information infrastructure. The center for providing information services to all stakeholders in the petrochemical industry (the government, society, shareholders, private sector, domestic and foreign investors, etc.) in a safe, truthful and valid functional technology manner.
